We believe and proclaim that all members of the congregation are ministers. These staff members support and guide us in our ministry on Sundays and throughout the week.
Rev. Ellen Gurnon
Pastor
Ellen was ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in 1994. Her first church was in Goldfield, Iowa. In 2003, she and her family moved to Missouri when Ellen was called to serve a church in Springfield. After 14 years there, Ellen moved to Cape Girardeau and began serving First Presbyterian Church. She became pastor at Westminster also, when the church yoked with First Presbyterian in January 2020.
Eric Scott
Music Director
Eric and his wife Lori joined Westminster in 1993, and he was hired as the Music Director in 2003. He also plays trombone in the Cape Girardeau municipal band and sings in two quartets. The New Beginning quartet has been together since 1997;
Faith in Harmony since around 2005. Both groups have professional recordings available!
Lynn Suhre
Office Administrator
Lynn earned her degree in Secretarial Science from Southeast Missouri State University in 1971. She has served as secretary at Westminster since September 1980. She says, “I have served the Lord alongside nine different pastors/interim pastors/pulpit supply pastors. Each one presented new and interesting challenges. I thank God for the many blessings I have received during my years of employment at Westminster.”
